There are but a few things in life for which I feel true passion. I love and adore my family. I love food. I'm Italian! I love the music produced by the greatest performers of the era in which I was raised. The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Who, and Led Zeppelin are just a few of the bands that forever changed the way I listen to and appreciate music. They raised the bar to heights that few of today's performers can ever hope to approach. I love baseball and, in particular, the Chicago Cubs. My passion for baseball comes from the fact that it is the perfect game. Baseball is the only team sport in which—as Yogi Berra would say—“it ain't over until it's over." My love for the Cubs, however, has little to do with perfection—in fact putting the words "Cubs" and "perfection" together in the same sentence is akin to linking Paris Hilton with talent. My passion for the Cubs is something I was born with—a disease for which there is no cure. Lastly, I love to write. My passion for writing came relatively late in life—unearthed while turning out an endless array of papers in pursuit of a Bachelor's Degree from The University of Phoenix. A couple of my professors provided all the encouragement I needed to sit down at my keyboard and bang out whatever comes to my warped little brain. Over the past few years I have written a complete manuscript on the Cubs (An Incurable Disease: Memories, Observations, and Ravings from a Baby Boomer Cub Fan), as well as a number of humor essays—some of which have been published on Web sites and in print. I created the Web site MucciCreations.com to serve as an online portfolio of my writing. Feel free to browse and, if so moved, contact me. Frank Mucci |
